Pelicam is committed to sustainable practices, integrating environmental stewardship into how we go about delivering Intelligent Change to our clients.

We believe that it is essential that both as a firm, and as individuals, we should operate in an environmentally conscious manner.

Our objective is to minimise the impact of our business activity on the environment wherever possible, and to influence our clients with positive consideration and adoption of good practices.

  • We are a fully distributed company (with no company offices), designed from the start to have a minimal environmental footprint and impact. Pelicam people work remotely as a matter of course.

  • We seek to persuade our clients to consider environmental matters wherever possible; we are in the process of building in specific focus points around sustainability into our programme review processes (the Programme Success Index).

We are committed to achieving a real and sustainable positive impact within the broader community in which we live and work.

A review has concluded that the most significant areas of impact we have on the environment are the use of natural resources. We recognise our impact on the environment comes from electricity to heat, cool and power office equipment; gas/oil for heating, travel to visit clients (when safe/advantageous to do so) but the significant part of our work is successfully carried out remotely from home locations.

Our current focus is to:

  • On an ongoing basis, evaluate our distributed energy usage to see how we can ensure effective energy systems and reduce consumption. We’ll report on these annually

  • Exert more influence on environmental criteria when selecting services and goods into us

  • Introduce Sustainability Awareness training into our Practitioner on-boarding

  • Build the levels of sustainability conversations within the Practitioner community to ensure we are all consistent in our focus.

We have already:

  • Adopted a fully distributed working model so we do not have any unecessary office overheads or travel

  • Adopted the use of video conferencing and chat tools to minimise travel to client sites and for internal meetings (if we do have to travel, we use the most environmentally friendly mode of transport)

  • Reduced our hard copy (marketing material by >95%, letters / correspondence by 100%).
